    Description

This 1947 advertising calendar is a large 31” x 41” and has a beautiful, colorful C.M. Russell print at the top of the calendar.  The print is entitled "When Wagon Trails Were Dim" and the print alone measures about 16” x 22 ¾”.  The calendar is complete with all 12 months and measures 14” x 20”.  The light blue and cream calendar was distributed by Kit Carson State Bank in Kit Carson, Colorado.  It is in very good condition with only a little edge wear.  The calendar has been rolled up and safely stored by the owner whose father worked for the bank at the time.  This is one of several large C.M. Russell bank calendars that he is wishing to sell most of which come from the 1940’s and his father’s bank.  In addition, there is an informative page about the artist and the print.  It is interesting to note that artist Charles Russell was very interested in the West and people like Kit Carson.
