    Description

ANTIQUE VALVE TROMBONE FOR DISPLAY OR FULL RESTORATION
Guessing based on the appearance, that this Trombone is from the 1800's/earlier.
    One Mouthpiece is included.
    Measures approximately:
    28.5" long (the Bell side)
    The Bell is 8.5" diameter
    33" long (the valve side)
    Condition:
I do not know anything about this type of musical instrument, so I will do my best to describe it.
    There are two parts.
The bell side has damage in one spot where the vertical piece attached to the main body, it looks as if the solder joint separated. There are several dents in the bell and tubular brass, some scratches, but the bell rim is intact. Please see photos.
The valve side has a mouthpiece, which I'm not able to remove. Not sure if it is original to the piece, but it has etched stars in it. It has three valves, they depress but don't pop back up without help. I doubt the material in the valves is good, it looks compressed and dry.
There are several small dents in the tubular brass, some scratches, please see photos. Not sure if it slides properly, it fits together, but I don't want to force it.
The valve buttons top and bottom have brass stars in the centers surrounded by abalone or pearl. A few are chipped, but still look awesome.
The top of the horn is decoratively and beautifully etched almost the entire top side. On the top of the bell is engraved:
    Fabbrica
    M. Nicaffio possibly (M. Nicassio)
    Taranto
