    This newspaper was printed on good quality rag paper using a letter press.  You can see the impression of the letters and also feel them with your fingers.  Comes with a reprint litho which will help you see the difference.  The reprint is of poor quality paper.

    Fort Union, Dakota Territory originally established in 1828 as a Trading Post by the American Fur Company.  General Alfred Sully occupied the Post, leaving one company of the 30th Wisconsin Infantry to protect the traders and public property stored there for the post to established nearby Fort Buford.
